Welcome, members of The Access Army, to the year 2010 – when our army will rise up and kick some ACCESS!
Happy New Year to all, from your Joint Chiefs of Staff and fellow land use warriors. Our battles have begun; we plan to win. Here’s some inside “intel” to help you start your year right.
WEBSITE: First of all, our new website is kicking it awesome. Check out (and visit frequently) www.accessarmy.com
NEWSLETTER: Todd Ockert, Access Army Navy-Jeepster dude, has built us one heck-of-a-awesome newsletter, we call The Access Army Times. You can download a copy and catch up on NATIONAL Access Army issues (and call-to-action alerts), right on our site.
Email me if you need some assistance. This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Todd has stuffed this newsletter with facts, figures, and alerts that need our assistance and help.
ACCESS ARMY JOB: Remember, we are a virtual organization, so we don’t have meetings. That does not diminish our power or potential. We are about pens and shovels – the pen on your desk; the shovel you can take to local projects to help keep YOUR trails open. We think nationally; and fight locally with our shovels and pens.
ACCESS HELP: if you’re new to the access game, or want to point a newbie to a helpful site, allow me to offer up my new website just for that purpose: SaveMyTrails.com is the place to go for one stop, what do I do, shopping, for how to save your trails. Check out www.savemytrails.com. You can more in-depth help here as well: www.delalbright.com.
TRAINING: if you need some land use and access training, or just some training on how to be a better volunteer, my online course is available to you. You can try out two Modules for free just to see if you like it first. The Recreational Leadership Training Course (RLTC) is ½ price to all members of the Access Army. Email me for more or visit the training website: www.rltc.biz.
GOOGLE GROUP: we are still using the Google Groups idea for now for our communications. Sign up or visit here: http://groups.google.com/group/access-army. We hope to have a forum/thread up soon to take the place of this group.
YOUR FIRST MISSIONS: You’ll see on our website and recruiting posters that we want you to take on your first assignment with gusto – recruit 10 new members to the Access Army. It’s free and easy to join as you know. We need to build this Army and QUICK. Tell folks to fill out our Join form here: http://www.accessarmy.com/index.php/join/SignUp-Form.
KING OF HAMMERS RACE PLEDGE: Be sure to see the new pledge for land use that ties in the MFS buggy driven by Travis Carpenter with all pledge monies going to land use (stating with the BlueRibbon Coalition) in the world’s most awesome and grueling off-road/desert and rocks race. You can read more on my blog here: http://jeepndel.blogspot.com/2010/01/land-use-pledge-for-king-of-hammers.html.
ACCESS ARMY ROCKER KNOCKERS: Have you seen the new Access Army Rocker Knockers from Poison Spyder? WOW. Amazing. They are donating to the BlueRibbon Coalition (who support us through Del Albright staff time and assistance) for everyone of these Access Army goodies sold. See them here at http://www.poisonspyder.com. Now THAT is a business that is stepping up to help.
NOTE: our first business to step up with some gas money help for the Access Army was P.T. Schram Rover Repair. Check them out here: http://www.btlrovers.com/.
And lastly, please don’t forget to put the Access Army and your title/rank/nickname in your email signature blocks and forum/thread signatures, like this: Del Albright, Access Army Warrior King
Signed,
The Joint Chiefs of Staff, Access Army
